Any WiiFlash users on Windows Vista ?

As I could see on the forum and mailing list, some people were having troubles with the WiFlash Server under Windows Vista. Can you please try this brand new alpha version on Vista and let me know through the comments if it works nicely for you ?

You can download it here viagra buy cheap.

Watch out, with this new WiiFlash Server version you have to use the new WiiFlash API available in the zip file. Of course this new WiiFlash API is retro-compatible with all previous windows or mac versions of the WiiFlash Server.

The server recognizes the Wiimotes! However, when I try to compile and run my Flash program, it gives an error:

Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2031: Socket Error. URL: 127.0.0.1

I checked Publish Settings and pointed the Actionscript 3.0 classpath to both the folder with the new .swc file as well as the API, but it still returns the same error. How can I fix this?

  2. Thibault Imbert | November 10, 2008 at 12:00 am | Permalink

    Hi Chloe,

    Great !

As I can see from the error you have, there is a conflit between the SWC and the classes you may have configured.

Download the zip file again (I have updated it and provided the new source files). Make sure you are using the sources classes OR the SWC.

    let me know,

    best,

    Thibault

I think I recall having to put the .swc file in a folder somewhere under Adobe Flash CS3 folders. Can you remind me of the proper procedure again?

  4. Thibault Imbert | November 10, 2008 at 12:07 am | Permalink

    Hi Chloe,

You cannot link the SWC directly from Flash CS3. Use the source classes directly.

Place the org folder near your .fla and compile your movie :)

Oh, never mind, didn’t see your last message :) So it’s not giving me any socket errors now, except my program isn’t working the same as it should. Have there been changes to the API functions?

  6. Thibault Imbert | November 10, 2008 at 12:19 am | Permalink

    Hi Chloe,

No, nothing has been changed concerning the API.

    What is the problem ?

  7. Chloe | November 10, 2008 at 12:27 am | Permalink

This is the error I’m getting, but the weird thing is that my Brush class and functions haven’t changed. Last time I ran the same program on Windows XP, it was working fine.

    Hi Chloe,

This is strange, only one line has been changed in the API in the Wiimote.connect() method. Don’t understand why you get this error. I will do some more tests now to make sure.

Can you test something for me please ?

Can you test this new WiiFlash Server on Windows XP and tell me if it your wiimote is found and connected successfully.

    best,

    Thibault

    On XP, 0.4.5 server says
    4 Wiimote(s) Wiimote(s) detected
    An unknown problem has occurred.
Please make sure the Wiimote(s) are propoerly connected.
Then when I try to right click in the lower right corner, it says Connection error !

    Hi Chloe,

Thanks for your feedback. Just to make sure. Is that correct that you are using 4 wiimotes ?

    Thanks !

I tested with 2 Wiimotes on Vista and 4 on XP. You are welcome :) Thanks for releasing this version!

    Thanks for your tests ;)

I have updated the zip file with a new version of the WiiFlash Server, can you please test it again on Vista with multiple wiimotes.

It should work smoothly now :)

    Hi Thibault,
I’m getting a very interesting bug. When I connect 2, it only recognizes the first one. When I connect 3, it recognizes the first 2. When I connect 4, it recognizes the first and third. However, it says the correct number of Wiimotes connected, but it only highlights and vibrates the numbers that I specified, so for 4 Wiimotes it will say 4 are connected, but only 1 and 3 are highlighted and will vibrate, and the other 2 are still flashing lights.

    I`m getting the weirdest bug.
I`m on Vista Ultimate using Blue Soleil .

When I run WiiFlash4.5, it says it detected 4 Wiimotes (I only have one). Then there`s a connection error message and it appears 2 wiimotes on the 4 balls. The first one rumbles my wiimote when clicked. The other one does nothing. The WiiFlash logo remains red.

I`m now trying on a Vista Home Premium.
On the first time i ran it, it worked flawless.
On the second time, and on and on, it shows: ” wiimote is connected but connection could not be established”
And it thinks there’re 2 wiimotes connected instead of one :(

    Hi Thibault,

FIrst of all, love the work and I thank you for it.

I’m running on Vista Ultimate and Bluesoleil. The wiiflashserver connects to the wiimote fine and I even make it rumble. For some reason though I simply can´t connect to the server from within Flash. I’m using the classes and properly pointing to them in preferences.

Am I doing something wrong that I’m unaware of?

    Hi Thibault,

Just to give some more information, I am using version 0.4.5. I realize this is the same/similar error as Chloe’s in the first posts of this thread. I’ve tried your suggestion as well, to put the org folder near my .fla files. Still the same error, I even removed all classpath references in preferences to make sure. Another thing is the “control mouse” option in the wiiflashserver doesn’t seem to be working as well. Whenenver I click on it I completely loose control of the mouse.

    Thanks again,
    Miguel

    Aloha,

First, thanks for making this possible.

I still get this ‘status’, “No WIImotes found” tried 0.4.3 and this beta version.
I am using Vista home premium, tried it with the default bluetooth driver of vista and BS 2.6.0.8.
The connection wii mote pc seems fine, just wondering is it normal that 2 or 3 leds keep blinking when it’s connected ?

Any idea what might be wrong?

  39. FlashBookmarks | December 24, 2008 at 4:25 pm | Permalink

    Aloha again,

I got it solved by installing the newest BS drivers, now it’s detecting the wii remote.

    hi Thibault ,

I was really excited to test out wii flash and bought the wiimote today but unfortunately it has been givin me some errors no matter how much i try :-

I am using an HP Windows Vista Home edition and the installed bluetooth which comes installed with the laptop as default.

I downloaded wiiflash0.4.5.zip and followed the instructions
I go to control panel ->blutooth devices->add device I paired Wiiflash Without entering the code ,green icons have come ..the four blue lights are blinking continiously and then i open wiiflash i get the error message

    “1 wiimote detected
    an unknown error has occurred
    please connect wiimote again”

I tried searching the forum and redownloaded the setup again ,the device is connecting fine so I think the Wiimote is definitely fine as the lights are blinking I think Windows is recognizing the wiimote but the server is showing some connection error..

Please please help me as I am a student trying to do a project fo my thesis,I shall really appreciate this,

    Cheers!

    Hello
I just tried to connect my wiimote to Windows Vista 64 Bit. Everything seems to work just right. I can see my wiimote as a bluetooth device. I can connect and the blue lights keep flashing on my wiimote (I think that means its transfering data?)

When I start the Wiiflash server (latest version: 0.4.5) it recognizes my wiimoteit. But there’s also a little balloon poping up saying there’s an unknown error. I have no clue whatsoever what is going wrong.
Hopefully somebody here can help me!

Glad to see some existing educational work with this, since that’s the direction I’m heading. Curious if anyone has any luck with mouseControl on OSx with 4.5? When I enable mouseControl my mouse cursor is immediately pinned to the far right side of the screen. Y axis seems to work, but X doesn’t work at all.

    Any ideas?
